Friday and Saturday

Yesterday was a good day.  Ty's mom picked us up for school nice and early.  Ty usually comes to help out in the classes too, but was scheduled to work instead.  Shucks!  During the morning announcements HQ decided she wanted to run around like a little crazy person.  This is one of the times it's really nice to have Ty there so that at least one of us can hear the announcements while the other takes care of HQ.  I decided to just take her to the nursery and hope I could get the info from someone else later!

HQ is staring at her snacks.

Izzy shows HQ how to use the foam tunnel in the nursery.

Just like a pro!
I was exhausted the whole time I was helping in the classes, but I had the promise of alone time with Ty later that afternoon which made it easier to get by.

My mom picked us up after school.  Izzy asked for her usual after school sprinkled doughnut and it was on our way to Grandma's!  HQ fell asleep almost immediately in the car (all that work she does in the nursery really tires her out) and Izzy described exactly what she would like to have for lunch.  My mom always looks forward to the girls coming over, and she makes sure she has their favorite foods handy.

Ty came by around 3 to pick me up and we left our little ones behind for a night out with friends.  It was originally supposed to be 6 of us, but one couple couldn't make it.  We had some home bbq'd turkey burgers and a night of games.  (If you don't own Wii Party get it!)  We had so much fun!

Today I got to sleep in (no kids!).  I felt so lazy I didn't even want to get out of bed to get breakfast but my tummy (and Peanut) eventually won that battle.  I started to feel guilty that Ty couldn't be there to be lazy with me.  He left for work at 6am this morning and works until 10 tonight...

This afternoon Ty's mom brought me to go pick up HQ (I totally feel like a kid without a car!).  But I think she was just as excited as I was to go get her.  It was also nice to be able to just chat on our way there.  I am so blessed to have an awesome mother-in-law! HQ was happy to see us both and then happy to be home.   But when she got home and Ty's mom had left she roamed about the place for a moment looking in every room.  She then plopped down in the hallway and yelled, "Dada! Ithy! (Ithy = Izzy)".  After a few tries she realized they weren't home so HQ stormed back down the hallway, picked up her vacuum, and ferociously "cleaned" the living room.  She was mad!

It's not quite as easy to play peek a boo with a heavy blankie!
Ty came home for dinner tonight so he could see HQ before going to bed (since he's usually home after she sleeps and leaves before she wakes up).  She was absolutely excited to see him!  Before he headed back to work she made him pick her up and just hug her.  She wouldn't let him go for a LONG time.  She lay her head on his shoulder, patted his back, and closed her eyes.  Like she felt so content and safe in his arms.  :)  Just the way I feel!  She finally let him go (grudgingly) and I got her ready for bed.  She was happy and ready to go to sleep.

Ty gets home soon.  And then the three (well... 4) of us have all day together tomorrow.  We are all looking forward to it.

Stinky Toes!

Little Gym Day!  Izzy wakes up and gets ready first thing in the morning on Little Gym days.  She enjoys it there  bunch.  However when this semester ends she wants to go back to gymnastics and dance class (mostly because there are more girls there).  I think she especially looked forward to today since she has been cooped up in the house because of all the rain.  She needed an outlet.

Izzy was smelling her toes and pretending like they were "super stinky".
HQ thinks that game is hilarious.
Ty was gone all day today so it was just business as usual for us girls (and Peanut).  As HQ napped Izzy and I did homework and chores.  Izzy was also on a health kick today and asked for lots of protein, water, and vitamins!  "I want my body to be strong and healthy!"  After lunch of chicken, rice, and veggies (the healthy protein lunch she wanted before gym) she announced, "Boy do I feel healthy!  My muscles are so happy we are going to have lots of exercise today!"

Working on her phonics.
She is even more motivated now that she has her gift in mind!

The theme for her class today was "catching".  They had the kids catch all different textures/sizes/and kinds of balls.  They also had them practice catching them while running, jumping, staying still, and bouncing on a trampoline.  It was pretty neat!

At The Little Gym.
HQ finds her favorite toy.. another baby's car seat.
Tomorrow is a school day for Izzy.  She has missed that too.  She hasn't been for quite a while since it was closed for Christmas vacation.  She looks forward to seeing her classmates again!  Ty's mom took the morning off so she could drive us there (which is so awesome!  I didn't want to tell Izzy she couldn't go to school since we still don't have a car... and we are really getting stressed about that!).  But I know Izzy looks forward to the ride.  She loves Grandma Orpi!

Muddy Water

We had Ty around for the early part of the day so we reserved that time to be spent with him.  We played games and just hung around the house today.  It was quite nice.

After Ty left for work Izzy and I started on her homework.  She has already decided what she would like  her phonics completion gift to be.  A stuffed Bob omb (from Super Mario).

Cute, but should I be worried?

I like to call this one:
Mwhahahahahahaha!

It's a shame my phone doesn't do the water justice.  It was a lovely brown/grey.
Izzy had decided she'd like to try to mix all the tub tints together.... she was very disappointed.

Mmm... stale garlic bread!  Izzy thought her dinner needed a good two hours to cool...

Izzy and HQ playing with a pink penguin, "Gloria".                                                                                                                      Izzy would make her talk while HQ would shove her cup in her face.
HQ later walked the penguin around like she was a baby and patted her on the back as if she were burping her.

I couldn't get in to blog for the last 2 hours, so I am going to cut this one short.  Ty works both jobs tomorrow and Little Gym starts back up for Izzy.  Boo and Yay!

Volcanos Live in Hawaii

Ty got a full 8 hours of sleep last night!! Yay!  I almost got 5, but I think that's fairly common for most pregnant moms.  Izzy greeted me this morning with a picture she had drawn of a "scary volcano".  "Mom, if we ever see this volcano here we HAVE to run away from it ok?  You remember that volcanos have lava and live in Hawaii right?  When are you and Dad going to bring me to Hawaii?"  Her brain is amazing.

We headed out to the mall to get Izzy's pencil box and a soft pretzel.  Both girls really liked the outing.  Being the moose that I am I needed to sit down. A lot!  HQ thought sitting down was lame (unless there was pretzel to be had).

We took a break after shopping for Izzy pencil box.  When HQ noticed
Target she hopped right off the bench and ran straight to it!
In this picture Izzy was trying to stop her.
Ty left for work before 2.  He and Izzy played a couple video games before he left.   She did her phonics and then helped me "design" some clothes to make myself after "there are no baby brothers in my tummy".  She expects me to be extremely fancy!  Everything she came up with she thought of some great diamonds (usually pink) or heels to go with it.

The girls helped make dinner tonight and HQ ate like we never feed her... she seriously ate more than Izzy and I put together.  When Ty came home for dinner she still wanted some of his!  She settled for and orange.  Ty even commented on how round HQ's tummy looked after dinner tonight.  He was quite proud of her :)
Izzy making dinner.

HQ "helping".
Bedtime routine as usual.  I am still not used to the noisy new bath time ritual the girls have developed, but hey as long as they are safe and it poops them out I'm all for it!

All clean after her bath HQ brushes her teeth.
Ty should be home any minute.  We get to have him with us again tomorrow morning and we are so excited.  I can't stress enough that I love it when he's home and it's quite obvious the girls do too!

Skinning Meatballs

HQ and I had just finished our oatmeal this morning when Izzy came home.  As usual the girls were extremely excited to see each other!  The little goofballs rolled around on the kitchen floor giggling and tickling each other for a good while before Izzy stopped and said, "You know, Mom, I am quite hungry... do we have marshmallows?".

Still dealing with my lack of energy (Ty and I are at the point where we are just counting down the days until Peanut gets here in the hopes that I could get some energy back) we still did our best to have a good time today sans Ty (he worked both jobs today).  Izzy started on the 3rd phonics box and I have a feeling she's going to blow right through it!  She's a smart and hard working little cookie.

My mom sent home some dinner for us with Izzy (she had 3 babies back to back, so she remembers how pooped you can get being pregnant AND having other little ones to take care of, so she tries to help when she can).  It was hawaiian meatballs with pasta.  As we were eating it for dinner tonight Izzy announced that they were good, but she didn't like the skin of the meatballs... um.. there was no skin on the meatballs! She asked if it was ok to peel them.  After debating with her over whether or not there was skin on said meatballs I finally said "Sure, Izzy, take the skin off if you need to".  She tried for a good couple of minutes and then realized it was a difficult task.  She asked if I would do it for her.  When I reminded her that there was no skin on the meatballs she said, "Oh! Then that's why they are yummy!" -_-

Ty should be getting home soon and then it's off to bed!  He doesn't work until 2pm tomorrow so the plan is to head to the mall to pick up the Hello Kitty Pencil Box we promised Izzy for finishing Phonics #2.  She is so proud and so excited!

Not So Interesting Side Note

I'm not going to lie.. we didn't do anything today and it was amazing!  I mean.. I did wake up feeling awful.  All the soreness from Peanut growing (ligaments, lower back, and a headache to boot!), but Ty had the day off and HQ was super happy to have up both around.  The only thing that would have made it better would have been if we had Izzy home, but plans changed and she comes home early tomorrow.

Since we didn't do much today I have no pictures so I figured I would just add a video of Izzy at about 1 and 1/2 years old roaming around our (then) new apartment on our first night living there.  (Not so interesting side note.. I made her those pants)

Happy New Year!

Last night Ty and I had a mini New Years Eve party at our place.  It was kind of last minute and we had invited about a dozen but had an even 5... which we actually kind of liked better.  With how tired we ended up being having a more intimate get together was very enjoyable.  We played some video games, some board games, ate, chatted, and counted down to the new year with some really awesome friends.  HQ liked seeing our friends too.  I think she is quite smitten with one of them. :)

If you're curious, my "resolution' is no more soda.  I had quit drinking it for nearly two years before Ty and I started dating.. then I got lazy.  I am a very anti soda person (especially diet! It's so horrible for you) but it does taste really good and it's so addicting!  So yeah, NO MORE SODA!

While running errands before the "party" HQ and Ty still find time to play.

Poor Ty had to get up for work at 4:00am today.  His alarm always wakes me up (even if it doesn't wake him up). Today he did wake up, but fell back asleep in our bathroom.  Then his snooze went off... I did NOT know how to turn off his alarm, but I guess that's a good thing.  I chucked a pillow at the bathroom door and apparently scared him awake... who knows how much longer he would have been asleep in there?

Ty got off work around lunch time and he and I spent the remainder of the day taking turns taking naps and hanging out with HQ.  We are such a hot couple!

Ty has tomorrow completely off!  We look forward to being able to stay at home together.  Well, we do have to drive out to pick Izzy up, but besides the drive tomorrow should be a great day!
